Internet Marketing Training Web Design and SEO Traffic

Internet Marketing, Web Design & SEO Training

Interet Marketing Training

from George Peirson

There are many Internet Marketing Experts available online, many of them are well established and have a lot of valuable information and advice, Joe Vitale, Dan Kennedy, Frank Kern, John Reese, Jay Abraham, and Ewen Chia just to name several of the most popular. I highly recommend taking a look at their offerings and books.

But what if you have already been through much of their training and you are still having trouble with the basics that many experts just assume you already know, like where exactly do you find Google AdWords and how to you exactly set that up. Or what about using a Blog, exactly where do you sign up for a blog and how do you set one up, step-by-step?

Internet Marketing Training

This is where my Computer Video Training comes in. My How To Gurus training is designed specifically to show you these important steps. I don't go heavily into marketing theory or try to get you excited with the latest and greatest trend. Instead I show you exactly HOW to do internet marketing with step-by-step video instruction. For instance on my Blogging training title I show you were to set up a free blog, how to sign up for the site, and then I take you by the hand and demonstrate all of the features of the most popular blogging software available online by actually creating a blog in each of the blogging sites. Fully demonstrating each step and option using video and narration. I not only tell you how, but I show you how as well.

I also will not be trying to sell you on a whole system when you only need training on one topic. If you look to the right you will see several of my training titles, each sold separately and very competivily priced. Just get the training that you need. You can purchase one title at a time and then move onto the next as needed, no commitments, no high pressure sales, just good solid training available for your computer.

These training titles are mastered onto computer DVDs that will play on any Windows computer with a DVD drive. Each title is divided up into several sections with mulitple videos per section. All titles have several hours of video training. This isn't the low quality stuff you get on YouTube, instead it is high quality training that is delivered on DVD. Our videos are too large and too high quality to stream online. The pictures you see to the right are what you actually receive in the mail. If we show you a DVD box and a DVD, that is exactly what you will receive.

So if you are looking for Internet Marketing theory then definitely look for some of the authors I have mentioned above. But if what you need is actual training, where you are shown step-by-step demonstrations then you have found the right site.

I have placed a free article below which will answer many basic questions about Search Engine Optimization. The videos are taken right from my training titles, but are of course reduced in size and quality to be able to stream over the internet and fit on this web site.

Getting You Started with Search Engine Optimization

What is SEO?

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization and is the process by which you "Optimize" or rework your web site to get the best search engine placement you can. When we are dealing with SEO we are mostly concerned with "Organic" or natural placement in the search engines. Take Google for an example, in Google there are two ways to get a good position, 1) Pay for an Ad, and 2) use SEO to improve your site and make it the most relevant site compared to the search term a user types into Google.

The "relevance" of the site is key. You can't make your site the best choice for every search term used, so you have to decide which search terms you are interested in and which most closely match your content. This is where Keywords come in. By carefully diagnosing your content and doing some research online you can come up with a list of the top 10-25 keywords for your site. You then use SEO - Search Engine Optimization to tailor your site to those keywords.

How you do that is the purpose of this web site. I will be posting articles and videos on several of the most important SEO - Search Engine Optimization techniques here. Plus I have an ever growing library of Video Training Titles aimed specifically at Internet Marketing and Success that are sold through this site. Take a look at the video sets for more information.

Content is King

The basis of all SEO - Search Engine Optimization is the content of your web site, and specifically the text on your site, and even more specifically the text towards the top of your content area. Obviously your content should match the focus of your site. The content also needs to include the keywords that you have discovered in your research. This is where a careful consideration of your subject matter comes into play.

First you need to consider your main topic and write your text carefully around this topic. As a good standard you should:

First - State Your Topic and Objective
Second - Explain Your Subject and Objective. Use examples where necessary and expand on any area that is complex.
Third - Summarize What You Said. This is the "wrapping it up" part of your writing.

Think of your content as an Article that you are writing about your subject matter that will be printed in a Newspaper. This will help keep you on track. Also, write to your audience as if you are talking to them personally. I try to write as if I was speaking to a small class of students, goes back to my teaching days. Use any device that helps your writing "flow" naturally.

Keywords

Once you have written your "Article" it is time to re-examine your keyword list. Pick out the most important keywords for the page you are writing and see how you can naturally work those keywords into the text. You don't want to cram them in and you don't want the text to seem forced, just easy natural speech. If you can get your keywords up to about 5% of your text you are doing great. Less than 3% and the Search Engines may not notice them, more than 7% and the Search Engines may thing you are Spamming the results. But don't worry, 5% is a lot of keywords, it will probably feel stuffed to you. The Search Engines will be analyzing the text in your content to find the words that seem to be the subject matter and that seem to be used frequently. Using your keywords in the page heading is practically required, and in the title of the page as well.

Links

The next stage in SEO - Search Engine Optimization is to work on your links. There are 2 basic kinds of links, Internal Links, and External Links.

The Internal Links help the Search Engines navigate your site and also help them to determine the relevancy of your content. Internal Links can be in Page Navigation, Image Names and Alt Tags, and InContext Links, where the link is within the text on your page. All of these are important to your SEO efforts.

External Links are both links going out from your web site to other sites and more importantly links coming into your site. One of the main ways the different Search Engines rank your site is by how popular it is. This popularity is to a great degree determined by how many sites link to yours. And to a slightly lesser degree by the quality of the sites linking to yours. So getting links from high quality sites is a must. Many SEO experts consider this the most important Search Engine Optimization technique you can use. I consider it very important, but only if all of the other main techniques are being used as well.

Accessibility

There are two kinds of Accessibility on the Internet. The first is making sure your site is accessible to people with disabilities, this is vitally important for major companies and required of government sites. Such techniques as having descriptive Alt tags on your images and not depending on multi-media are both useful.

The second kind of Accessibility is more important to our discussion and that is making your site accessible to the Search Engines. Basically Search Engines need to be able to easily navigate your site and they need to know which areas should be indexed and which can be ignored. This is accomplished with having a good text based navigation on your pages, using a properly formatted robots.txt file and setting up an XML Sitemap file.

Good Code

Finally, your site can be penalized for Bad Code. This doesn't just mean using a web design product like Dreamweaver to write your code for you. It means going into the code and hand editing it to clean up all problems. Using verification tools helps in this process, but you really should understand basic page coding (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) so that you can examine the page at the code level and make sure that the code is Clean.

So There You Go

I have touched on several topic areas covered in this site. All of these areas are demonstrated in detail in my various video training titles. I have put this site together to cut through the clutter and give you the facts straight as I see them, and to do so in an easily accessible manner. Most of what is on the site is Free, my training video sets are priced very low. No hype here, no sales pitches to get you to purchase over priced training. I put up what I think is important, in articles and videos on this site and I put together major video training titles to go into depth on these topics in easy to use computer DVD's.
